Suite!

So, Brad and I took the boys to the Royals game on Monday night. We had a bit of a hard time actually getting to our seats. First, the wonderful parking attendants tried to get us to park pretty much in the back of the Chiefs stadium parking when there were plenty of spaces much closer. Needless to say, we got closer than the back 40. We get the boys out of the car and everything that accompanies them and stroll off to the gate. When we get up to the gate, I go to pull out our tickets, but they were not where we left them in the baby bag. I keep the boys with me and Brad hitches a ride on the fan assist cart to go back to the car and search for our 4 tickets. About 5 minutes later, Brad calls and says he found the tickets. We trek up to our new level and new seats. An usher flags us down to make sure that we know where we are going and wipes down the seats. Brad goes to grab some more paper towels after she leaves. While he is getting paper towels, a man walks over to me and says. "We have two extra seats up in the suite if you would like them. It looks like you have your hands full." Then, he walks away. Brad comes back and I tell him that I got two tickets with better seats. He asks," Where?" and then he looks at the tickets and sees "STE" in front of the seat numbers. His words were "Heck, yeah, we're going up there."

So, we watched the first 4 innings of the Royals game in the Frank White Lounge eating on Angus burgers, gourmet mac and cheese and hot dogs straight off the rotisserie. Oh, and of course, the giant snickerdoodles were good(at least that's what Brad and Taylor say). So, thank you, nice man from Ferrelgas who had extra tickets. We had a great time and Josiah enjoyed his first Royals game in the comfort of a nice, warm, dry suite.

Royals won 7 to 1 that night by the way. Jose Guillen hit his first home run(3 run homer) since he came back from the farm team.

One Walking Fool

So, I've come to the conclusion that my legs are going to fall off by the end of June. You ask why? Well, it all started with me being team captain of Faithful Feet, a walking team for the MS Walk. Some of you may be wondering what the MS Walk is. The MS Walk is a 3-6 mile walk (6 miles for me) to help find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis. I have been team captain of this team since the year I found out that one of my closest friends, Emily has MS. She found that information out about the time we graduated from high school. Right now, she is battling nonstop with it and it won't give in. Fortunately, she won't give in, either. My best friend of 20 some-odd years also just found out her mom has MS. So, please help out our team if you can and make a donation. I have posted an MS Walk link on the side of the page that takes you to the website where you can make an on-line donation. I'll be walking with my team on Saturday morning, April 18th.

Oh, but you think I'm done after that. Nope, that's just one of three. The next walk I will be participating in is the March of Dimes Walk on May 3. Remember all those babies I told you about in an eariler post? Well, one of those babies was born 3 months early and spent his summer vacation at Overland Park Regional. Max fought hard and had some struggles, but he is one of the cutest and toughest babies I know. Beth(Max's mom, my sister-in-law) is a team captain of Mad Max and Hunter. (Wonder why Hunter doesn't have a adjective with him?Maybe, it should be Mad Max and Handsome Hunter). Please support this team as we try to "de-feet" premature birth. I've also posted a link for this walk as well. Donations can be made up to the day of the walk.

Below is a video of Max and his trials from when he was born(Turn up your sound).

MAX THEN

MAX NOW (with cousin Josiah born 6 weeks later, but only 2 weeks early).

Finally, on June 6, I will be a member of a Relay for Life team in Kearney. I started walking in this event 3 years ago after my mother-in-law fought a battle with melanoma and beat the snot out of it. This walk means even more this year because my grandpa who is 84 years old was recently diagnosed and battling colon cancer. He will be having surgery this week to remove the slow growing tumor. Relay for Life starts on June 5 and ends on June 6. I will posting a link for this website also. Donations can be accepted until May 15th.

Even if you can't donate to all of the causes, at least one donation would be appreciated. If you can't donate, just support me by telling me that I will have legs by the end of June. I sure hope so, since I'll be going on vacation in July.

Newest Member of the Boy's Club

It's another boy! Rider Matthew was born on April 4(he barely made the midnight cut-off). If anyone is keeping track, that is 5 boys on the James side and 5 boys on the Powell side. That's A LOT of boys, if you ask me. Just imagine what kind of sports teams we would have if all of us were athletic(and you know who I'm talking about, don't you?). Anyone want to place bets on who will have the first girl?
Grandma Dee and Aunt Becki have sent pictures for us, but we won't be able to see the live version for awhile because Brad and I used up all the vacation time we had over spring break. He's just going to have to come to us. Oh, darn, the Nashville crew has to make that long haul up to KC. We'll leave the light on for you. Becki, Darren, newest big brother Brice, and baby Rider are doing well.
FYI: If you ever write his name backwards, he'll be a Kuhl Rider.
That's the jokes, kiddos. I'll be here all night.
